Not every man can easily express his feelings verbally. Luckily, body language can help. But that doesn’t mean that hugs can’t say a lot about your relationship. They’re still an important form of expressing emotions with each other. Especially when it comes to strong emotions, positive or negative. It’s important to know the meanings of hugs you share with your partner.
1.The “London Bridge” hug
There is a literal distance between you, and the embrace itself seems rushed and merely polite. It could be that you don’t really care for each other and are just trying to save face. But why? If the person is unpleasant to you, a wave, a handshake, or a nod are okay. There are exceptions, though: if you go to a family dinner and meet your grumpy uncle, this hug may come in handy. But that’s another story.
2.The suffocating hug
If you had a tough day or something went wrong, you probably will perform the suffocating hug on your partner. Because you know that he/she is there for you, just like you’re there for them. Even if you don’t want to talk about your bad day, the suffocating hug is all the clues they need to read your mood.
3.Leaning Tower of Pisa hug
You probably never thought you would find a meaning in a hug through the Tower of Pisa. If there’s a gap of couple inches between each other’s feet when a hug occurs, it means that you’re not close at all with that person. You’re just hugging for the sake of it.
4.The ultimate friendship hug
It’s pretty much the same as the ultimate hug 1, but in this case, you both have arms around each other. One goes around the neck and the other one could go in the pocket, just like the picture above.
5.The hug from behind
A strong embrace from behind says that the hugger is ready to protect you from all hardships and is not afraid of responsibility. He is a true knight, and next to him you will definitely feel safe.
6.The end of the world type of a hug
This is the ultimate hug. If this is how your partners hugs you, you know you’re in a serious relationship. It usually happens when you haven’t seen your partner in a while. But it’s also a sign of stable and serious relationship.
7.Hugs without much contact
This is how we usually hug with friends, and not even best friends. There’s has to be a contact between you and your partner. It’s not like we always have to demand “the end of the world” type of a hug, but loosing contact is a bad sign.
8.Legs wrapped around your waist
Ohhh, the famous Hollywood hug that defines the peak of true love. Whenever this hug occurs, we usually feel like the world is spinning around us. The only thing missing is a cool soundtrack in the background to make things even more romantic.
9. The “one-way” street hug
It’s not really a hug when only one person is doing all the hugging. Technically, it is a hug but without any emotion. There’s a problem if you’re the one doing all the hugging and your partner is just standing still.
10.The hug while looking into the eyes
If he hugs you incredibly gently and delicately and then looks straight into your eyes, then you can be sure: this is a symbol of a true and deep connection between you two. He values you very much, and everything that is happening is really important to him. Such relationships have a future and, perhaps, a very happy one.
11.The Pampered Hug
There’s no real romantic meaning connected to the pampered hug. Tapping someone’s back is a typical sign of respect. It means that you care for someone, but probably not in a romantic way. Guys (and girls) stuck in the friend-zone are more familiar with the pampered hug.
